Central Valley Institute for Regional and Historical Studies (CVIRHS) is committed to inviting nationally recognized scholars to the Valley to speak on the subjects of interest to local residents. By doing so, we will help make our community a hub for eminent scholars, and offer community members the opportunity for lively inquiry.

Communities, Stories, and Oral History

Recording the personal histories of Central Valley residents is key to the institute’s mission. Through individual sessions and larger public history events, trained oral historians will record, transcribe, and catalogue the voices of valley residents from all walks of life.
